Students and Faculty Participate in Toughest Road Half-Marathon in America!
Chelsea students and faculty participated in Saturday’s Blue Ridge Half-Marathon Road Race in Roanoke, VA, billed as the “Toughest Road Half-Marathon” in America (13.1 miles up and down two mountains.) Senior Max L., juniors Janey O., Anna W., and Kirsten B.; sophomores Benedict S. and Tommy S.; middle-school cross-country coach Miss Rachel Wilk, and high school cross-country coach Mr. Stephen Foster all ran in the race. Miss Kathleen Sullivan, Academic Dean and English teacher participated in the 10K. Congratulations to all! Out of over 800 runners, Max, Benedict, and Tommy finished 11th, 12th, and 17th overall, as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in their age group! Janey finished 3rd in her age group! The students and faculty met Olympian runner, Jeff Galloway “America’ coach” and received a one-of-a-kind railroad spike runner’s trophy. A great day had by all!
