Avian Adventure for 4th and 5th Graders

On Friday, May 10th, the 4th and 5th grades embarked on an avian adventure which took them to the “wilds” of Warrenton where they explored the behind-the-scenes kitchen of Chik-fil-A where good, fresh food was being prepared, before packing their own kids meals. After students swirled their own soft-serve ice-cream, they were surprised by a special visit of the Chik-fil-A cow! After eating birds (in the form of nuggets and sandwiches), the classes traveled to Boyce to see living birds of prey face-to-face. A riveting raptors presentation was followed by a hands-on dissection of owl pellets. At the end of the day, the students flew back to Chelsea (within the speed limit, of course!)
