Chelsea Senior to Play Collegiate Soccer
Congratulations to Max Nicholson, Chelsea Academy Class of 2019, who has committed to play NCAA Division III soccer at Misericordia University next year.
According to the NCAA, 5.5% of high school soccer players go on to play in the NCAA. Max has played goalkeeper for Chelsea Academy since 2014. His high school stats include 64 saves and 6 shut outs. He was named player of the game twice this past season, and was a team captain for his junior and senior seasons. The Delaney Athletic Conference named Max to the conference team throughout his high school career.
Founded in 1924, Misericordia is a liberal arts-based, co-educational Catholic institution located in northeastern Pennsylvania. Sponsored by the Religious Sisters of Mercy, the University is dedicated to the values of the Sisters of Mercy: mercy, service, justice and hospitality. The Cougars’ soccer team has notched 21 post-season appearances in the last 25 years.
Max plans to major in physical therapy.
