Congratulations to Our Poetry Out Loud Contestants and Winners
Chelsea’s annual Poetry Out Loud competition filled the atrium with rhyme on Tuesday as Upper School contestants recited poems. Contestants, selected from a preliminary round during the month of November, selected and recited two poems each from the Poetry Out Loud anthology. Felice Lagarde, Chelsea junior won the day with her recitations of “Ozymandias” by Shelley and “The Pull Toy” by Stallings. Runner-up, James Schwartz recited “Dreamers” by Sassoon and “Fairytale Logic” by Stallings. General Josiah Bunting, Cecilia Hadley, and Dr. Kathleen Sullivan were the judges for the event. Felice will advance to the regional competition in Manassas during January.
