Annual Chelsea Gala

From our Gala Chairs

Welcome to Chelsea Academy and our 2020 Gala! We are Matt and Jan Akers, the chairs for this year’s fundraising Gala.

When we think of Chelsea, two words come to mind: education and formation. On the crest of Chelsea, we see the words, “Lord, that I may see.” This simple phrase imparts deep insight into our mission in life. To see, to comprehend, to know, to understand—this is the heart of education and Chelsea provides an incredible environment and curriculum to help shine a light on truths both temporal and eternal so that students, by God’s grace, might see a great many things about life. But Chelsea’s vision for its students doesn’t just end with their education; it is enveloped with Christian formation for their eternal soul. Proverbs 22:6 teaches us to “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” It is not enough that one might see; training is also required. Chelsea not only provides an education, but it provides a Catholic education, a spiritual formation, a rigorous training in all of its subjects and activities. This is why we have chosen Chelsea for our children and this is why we are asking you to help further the work of Chelsea for the children of our community. Our world, our community, needs educated and formed young people—young people who have been tested, tried, and trained with rigor so that they may set off in life prepared to “run so as to win.”

We invite you to support the good work of Chelsea Academy in rigorous, formative, Catholic, education in the Shenandoah Valley! Consider making a gift – an investment in the lives of young people – to Chelsea.
