Annual Middle School Play Was Enchanting
On Saturday, March 2, a Chelsea cast of 4th-8th graders brought Shakespeare to life yet again in their annual spring play. This year’s treat was The Tempest. From the spunky sprite Ariel, (Eve P.), to the misshapen monster Caliban (Noah K.); from the drunken butler Stephano and sidekick Trinculo (Mary Kate B. and David M.), to the conniving companions Antonio and Sebastian (Andre L. and Max S.), to the innocent lovers Miranda and Ferdinand (Bea S. and John B.), all were under the powerful and benign spell of Prospero (Michael M.), who even conjured the storm by his magic (played beautifully by musicians Helena, Ivy and Josephine A.). With its intensity, humor, and sweetness, the play proved enchanting to all the viewers.
