Every Chelsea student is assigned to a faculty member who serves as his or her advisor. Advisory groups consist of roughly ten students from across the grade levels and from the Houses to which the advisor is affiliated. Each day starts with short advisory meetings.
Advisors serve as mentors and advocates for their advisees. In overseeing all aspects of a student’s life at school, advisors help to ensure that every student is known by an adult. Advisees come to know students from different grades, and the advisory system makes certain that all students have a smaller group to which they belong at school.
